Just for laughs

Enjoy!

"Mirrors don't lie. Lucky for me, they can't laugh either."

"A secret is what you tell everyone not to tell anyone else."

"Sometimes, I spice up my marriage by wearing a long black nightgown with buttons on it.

Makes me look just like a remote control."

"The secret to a welcome opinion is keeping it to yourself."

"I gave my wife plastic surgery. I cut up her credit cards."

"I'll never forget where I buried that hatchet."

"Hey you! Did you lose your nose? Cause I found it in my business."

"If you want to understand politics, you have to read between the lies."

"I've never been wined and dined. I've been beered and snacked though."

"Don't flatter yourself. I do have a banana in my pocket."

"I try to see the best in everyone. They are however, trying harder to hide it from me."

"The only way I'd be ripped is if I tore a tendon."

"Women like honesty because it helps them rule you out faster."

"Reckless abandon can be your friend. But never depend on it for bail."

"I wish I was on my wife's to-do list."

"I think, therefore I'm not related to you."

Thin fingers?

If you are someone with anorexic fingers like me and can never seem to find rings that fit snugly, then this post is for you! I've just discovered a really great way to prevent rings that are a little too large from sliding off! So, what is it, short of paying the local jeweler to have them solder two sizing beads on the inside of your RM12 ring?

Doesn't look very comfortable now does it? Yeap, and the cost of the ring does not justify the need either. Sooooooo, what is it? It is... drum roll please.... a thin twist tie!

Pretty sure everyone has seen it before. Anyway, all you have to do is just loop it around your finger and cut it (a pair of normal scissors will do) to this length.

No-brainer, but I'm going to mention it anyway; the part where the two ends intersect should be facing out, because it would be too large for concealment under the band of a ring. This is where the setting of the ring would come in!

Slide your ring on over the band. Some patience is required in making sure that the twist tie is completely hidden under the ring.

And ta-da, done!

Tiny glimpse of the twist tie to show it being hard at work. :P And don't worry, it's not uncomfortable at all.

Thought of using a rubber band initially before I realized that it might just turn my finger purple from having its circulation cut off. Haha! Anyway, I hope the tip has helped my fellow thin-fingered babes! :)

Melbourne 2011: Random updates

Boo! Couldn't smile lest the mask move.

Say hi to my trusty pair of Crocs ballet pumps that goes with just about every outfit.

Do they have this in Malaysia?! It's soooo yummeh!

And finally, look what we have here! Jason has booked us an early dinner next Thursday aboard the ever-famous tramcar restaurant!

Here are some pictures of the tramcar from their website.

Can't wait! Will blog about the experience after I've had it and tell you whether it's worth the splurge or not. For the record, the sky-dining experience at Singapore was NOT.

Melbourne 2011: Breezes, Crown Towers

Crown is a treasure trove of fine-dining restaurants and staying directly opposite it makes me want to try out each and every one of them. Last Sunday's selection was Breezes, located on the third floor of Crown Towers.

The sight that greeted us upon entering the restaurant...

Complimentary bread for two!

Our appetizer, a carpaccio of wagyu rump, pickled baby beets, shaved Pecorino and truffle dressing. Tasted so good I wolfed down almost all of it. -.-

Me with my clumsily glued-on falsies. For the first time, falsies made my eyes look smaller rather than bigger, urgh. On another note though, I'm madly in love with this high neck lace dress that I got from ASOS!

Jason's steak, the Victorian Farms rib eye, accompanied by sautéed spinach (lying at the bottom of the steak) and shiraz jus.

Ditto my tenderloin, done medium. It was crazily juicy!

The view.

Jason's latte, which he complained was more foam than coffee.

And last but not least, the desserts! Because after all, what's a fine-dining experience without the desserts right? =P We ordered the Maffra Cheddar cheese...

and the maple crème brûlée with a chocolate and hazelnut tuile. So sinful omg because isn't this one of the biggest servings of crème brûlée you've ever seen? One heck of a mouth-gasm, until the last few mouthfuls, that is, whereby I was feeling 'jelak'.

All in all a good dinner. Nobu next! Ciao for now, muaxxxx.

Melbourne 2011: Nautical Restaurant and Lounge @ Port Melbourne

Had one of the second-bestish steaks when Jason brought me to a restaurant at the scenic Port Melbourne; second-bestish lolwtf did I just come up with that? because no steak ever came close to the Kobe beef steak I'd had in Angus House, Pavilion. EVER. But I digress.

Anyway, I'll let the pictures do the talking for the outside and pretty interior of the restaurant.

Menu stuck to the wall outside the restaurant.

Spot the boyfriend paying for parking.

The interior reminds me slightly of Le Midi in Bangsar Shopping Centre, if only for its lighting. Operation word here being slightly.

Seated directly next to the window, I was able to capture a picture of this soothing scene before it turned dark.

Before turning the camera on myself, like you'd expect any less. Haha!

And before you know it, our starter was here! We ordered the pan seared king scallops with cauliflower puree and crisp sweet soy pork belly.

Officially making it the second dish of pork belly we had that day, the first being at this Spanish restaurant around South Melbourne market for lunch. Looks awesome, or what?! But I digress, AGAIN!

So moving on, our main courses arrived after a long and rather frustrating wait. I had the Oakey black angus scotch fillet done medium while the boyfriend had a Cargil black angus porterhouse. Sorry no picture of the latter but they looked similar.

(but each with very distinct tastes of their own of course). Mine was heavenly. First word that came into my mind upon tasting is? Flavorful!

=D *happy smile*

On a different subject altogether, I regret bringing so many shorts to Melbourne, and my clever decision to buy another one from Just Jeans yesterday. It has been raining days and nights and is freezing cold! I always end up wearing poor Jason's hoodie haha.

Anyway, here's what I wore today before succumbing to the sartorial unspeakable of donning an oversize grey hoodie. >.<
White striped mohair sweater and scarf - Sisley
Cuffed denim hot pants - Just Jeans

Going to bed now, ciao!

P/S: Might have meted out my verdict too soon on the Chatime in Melbourne. While their roasted milk tea isn't half as good as their Malaysian counterpart, their Taiwan plum iced tea is!! (I mean as good) Can definitely see myself making daily stops at the Elizabeth Street outlet!
